About the Designer |
Terry Ross is a native Kentuckian who has lived
in northern Michigan since late 1989. She and her husband,
Art, are the parents of three young children, and though
they were blessed with parenthood later in life than most,
they find it's helping to forestall the ravages of time.
Terry learned to knit when she was 8 years old by picking up
some needles, some yarn, and a little green how-to book from
Coats and Clark. Having learned the basics, she put down the
needles for 40 years. In 2005, a friend urged her to take it
up in earnest, and after some coaxing, she did. Terry
managed to finally create an actual knitted object for the
first time in her life. She was smitten by knittin'!
Since then, she's prolifically turned out project after
project, but found her true love and high calling in the
form of knitting and then felting her creations,
particularly handbags. She's designed many items for Crystal
Palace Yarns which can be downloaded as free patterns and
she continues to come up with even more ideas for felted
goods.
Terry's outlook about knitting is that it should be simple
to do, while providing attractive style and functionality.
She loves to take simple shapes and enhance them with
beautiful embellishments, and finds inspiration for designs
just about everywhere she looks.
She looks forward to continuing to fan the flames of handbag
love with her classic designs. |
